Medborgarskapskursen
I am the course lead for Medborgarskapskursen and I write the content: the chapter pages, the practice questions and the guides to the requirements. The course is based on UHR's study material Sverige i fokus, and every fact has a source at UHR, the Migration Agency or in the legal text.
Why this course
The Swedish citizenship test was introduced in summer 2026 and most of what is written about it online is guesswork: made-up pass marks, "real test questions" that do not exist and test dates nobody has announced. Participants in the first test said the hard part was not the facts but the language in the questions. This course is built around exactly that: explanations in plain Swedish, the words the test uses, English pages so that you understand the content first, and clarity about what is known and what is not.
Background
I have built and write the online courses behind YK Kurser, which prepare people for the Swedish Transport Agency's knowledge tests for commercial traffic licences (goods, bus and taxi). The same way of working applies here: the material is updated when the rules change, not when a book happens to be reprinted.
Day to day I work as a Digital Growth Specialist at the digital agency Pigment, with SEO, paid advertising and analytics. That affects how the course is written: headings that answer the questions people actually ask, and texts that can be read on a phone on the underground.
How we work with facts
The Swedish citizenship test is new, and the rules around it are still changing. That makes fact-checking the most important thing we do. Every figure, every date and every rule on this site has a source at UHR, the Swedish Migration Agency or in the law itself, and the sources are listed at the bottom of the page where the fact is used. If you find a fact without a source, that is a mistake, and we want to hear about it.
We only write what has been published. UHR has, for example, not announced a pass mark, a fixed number of questions for future tests or a date for the next test. So the site says exactly that, in plain words, instead of a guess dressed up as a fact. When we describe the test held in August 2026, we describe that test, not the next one.
The questions in the course are our own. We write them from the study material Sverige i fokus, chapter by chapter, and every question has an explanation and a page reference so you can look the answer up yourself. UHR has published five sample questions, and they are clearly marked as UHR's when we reproduce them. No question on this site is called official, because it is not.
Before a chapter page is published, every statement is checked against the source text, and legal references are checked against riksdagen.se. Anything that cannot be verified is removed. When UHR or the Migration Agency changes something, we update the page the same day, set a new "updated" date and explain the change in the news section. That way you always know which version of the rules a page describes.
