Medborgarskapskursen is an online course for you who are going to take UHR's citizenship test in civics. You read one chapter at a time, answer questions with explanations and practise on a test in the same form as the August test. The test is in Swedish, so the lessons are in Swedish too, written for readers with Swedish as a second language.

What is Medborgarskapskursen?
The test is based on UHR's study material Sverige i fokus: 48 pages in 13 chapters. The course follows the material chapter by chapter and explains the content in plain Swedish.
Every chapter has its own lesson, its own questions and a list of difficult words. The questions have an explanation and a page reference, so that you see where in Sverige i fokus the answer is. You do not need to guess what matters: the lessons follow the same order and the same headings as UHR's material.
The course is independent. It is provided by Znoff AB and has no connection to UHR or the Migration Agency. We do not register anyone for the test and we have no insight into the test questions. Read more on the page about us.
Who is the course for?
- You are between 16 and 66 and going to apply for Swedish citizenship. The knowledge requirement applies at that age according to the Migration Agency. Anyone who has turned 67 does not need to show knowledge of society.
- You have Swedish as a second language. The test is written in Swedish at a functional level, which the government compares to level B1. The course is written at that level: short sentences, one message at a time and the difficult words explained.
- You cannot show the knowledge in another way. Anyone with a pass grade in civics from Swedish compulsory school, upper secondary school, folk high school or komvux does not need the test. SFI does not count for the civics part. Read about all the requirements.
- You want to know what actually applies. UHR has not published the pass mark or the format of the next test. We write what is known, with a source, and say clearly what has not been decided.
What is included in the course?
- A lesson for every chapter. All 13 chapters of Sverige i fokus, explained in our own words and with the words the test uses. See the full course content.
- Practice questions with explanations and page references. Every question has four options, as in the August test. Once you have answered, you see why the answer is correct and on which page of the material it is.
- A mock test in the August test format. The test on 15 August 2026 had 60 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes. The mock test has the same form, with questions mixed from all chapters. The format of the next test has not been published, and we will change the mock test when UHR announces it.
- Difficult words explained. Participants in the first test said the language in the questions was the hard part, not the facts. Every chapter therefore has a list of words from the material, explained in plain Swedish.
- Updates when UHR changes something. UHR corrected Sverige i fokus on 10 August 2026. When the material, the test or the rules change, we update the course and write the date.
What is free?
You do not need an account to start. This is open to everyone:
- All 13 chapter pages about Sverige i fokus, in English, with difficult words and what the test tends to ask about.
- Three practice questions per chapter and the practice test with ten questions.
- The guides about the requirements, registration and the test.
- The news about what UHR and the Migration Agency have announced.
The course with all lessons, all questions and the mock test requires a subscription.
How to study for the Swedish citizenship test with the course
- Start with a chapter you know a little about. Read the lesson at a calm pace. Look up the words in the list of difficult words when you get stuck.
- Answer the questions straight after. Read the explanation even when you answer correctly. The page reference shows where in Sverige i fokus you can read more.
- Go through all 13 chapters. The test can ask about anything in the material, from geography to holidays. Do not skip the short chapters.
- Take the mock test against the clock. Practise reading 60 questions in 90 minutes. Guess rather than leave a question blank: UHR gives no penalty points for wrong answers.
- Revise what you missed. The course keeps track of which chapters you need to read again.

Take the practice testWhat is not included?
Medborgarskapskursen is an independent course. We have no connection to UHR, which writes and marks the test, or to the Migration Agency, which decides on citizenship.
- No official test questions. UHR has published five sample questions and writes that the agency does not endorse private practice tests. Our questions are our own.
- No guarantee of passing. The pass mark has not been published. The results of the August test and the pass mark are due in October 2026.
- No registration for the test. You register with UHR, and only with a referral letter (anvisningsbrev) from the Migration Agency. How registration works.
- No language test. The course covers the test in civics. The Swedish language requirement is currently shown with grades or other tests. Read about the language requirement.
Frequently asked questions about the course
Is Medborgarskapskursen an official course?
No. Medborgarskapskursen is an independent course from Znoff AB and has no connection to UHR or the Migration Agency. The course is based on UHR's study material Sverige i fokus, but the lessons and questions are our own.
What does the course cost and when can I buy it?
The course costs SEK 99 per month or SEK 499 for a full year. Purchase is not open yet. Write to info@medborgarskapskursen.se if you want an email when the course opens. The chapter pages and a short practice test are free already.
Can I cancel the course at any time?
Yes. The monthly subscription runs until you cancel it, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. The details are in the terms and conditions.
Are the questions in the course the same as in the test?
No. UHR has only published five sample questions, and the real test questions are not public. Our questions are our own and based on Sverige i fokus, with an explanation and a page reference for every question.
Will I pass the test if I take the course?
We cannot promise that. UHR has not published the pass mark, and the test is written by UHR, not by us. The course helps you understand the material and the words in the questions, which is what participants in the August test found hardest.
What happens if UHR changes the test or the material?
Then we change the course and write when it was done. UHR corrected Sverige i fokus on 10 August 2026, for example, and our pages follow the corrected version. The format of the next test has not been published, and the mock test will change when UHR announces it.
