2 Secure your incomeApplies if you are 18 to 67: a lasting salary or business income of at least three income base amounts, SEK 250,200 for 2026, about SEK 20,850 a month before tax. Subsidised employment does not count. The income requirement →
3 Show your Swedish skillsApplies from 16 to 66. A pass in Swedish or Swedish as a second language from year 9, upper secondary school, komvux or SFI, or a passed Tisus. A separate language test for citizenship will come in autumn 2027 at the earliest. The language requirement →

Waiting and the decision 9 After six months: request a decisionIf more than six months have passed you can ask the Migration Agency to decide your case, on form 301011. They must then decide within four weeks or refuse the request. You can only do it once. Can I get a decision faster? →
10 The decisionIf the answer is yes, the Migration Agency tells the Tax Agency that you are a Swedish citizen. If you are refused you can appeal to the migration court; the decision says how and by when. After the decision →
