UHR corrected two errors in Sverige i fokus

On 10 August 2026 UHR corrected two factual errors in Sverige i fokus: the UN was founded in 1945 and Sweden has around 1,400 preserved medieval churches, not 3,000.

On 10 August 2026 UHR published a corrected version of the study material Sverige i fokus (Sweden in focus). Two factual errors have been changed. If you downloaded the material before 10 August, you have the old version. Get the new one.

What has been corrected?

UHR lists two corrections on the page for the study material:

  1. The UN was founded in 1945, not 1946. The information is on page 39, in the section about the UN.
  2. Sweden has around 1,400 preserved churches and church ruins of medieval origin, not 3,000 medieval churches. The information is on page 43, in a photo caption.

The corrected PDF is still called the first edition, but is marked as a corrected version dated 2026-08-10. UHR’s page was updated on 12 August.

Why does it matter?

UHR says the test is based on Sverige i fokus. If you have learned that the UN was founded in 1946, you have learned the wrong year. The correct year is 1945. The material says the UN was founded after the Second World War, which makes the year easy to remember.

The figure for the churches is a good example of how the test can ask about details. The material now says around 1,400, and that is the figure that applies.

We do not know whether either piece of information was in the August test on 15 August. UHR has not published the test questions.

What should you do?

  1. Go to UHR’s page for the study material and download the PDF again. Check that the file says “korrigerad version 2026-08-10”.
  2. If you use the audio files: download them again from UHR’s page so that you have the current versions.
  3. Correct your own notes: UN 1945, around 1,400 medieval churches.
  4. If you use private practice questions, from us or anyone else, check that they have the correct facts. UHR does not endorse private practice tests and does not review them.

About Sverige i fokus

Sverige i fokus is UHR’s own study material for the citizenship test in civics. The content was produced together with the National Agency for Education (Skolverket). The material has an introduction and 13 chapters, is available as a PDF and as an audio file for each chapter, and is free. It is only available in Swedish.

The material is 48 pages long. In the introduction, UHR writes that the test will be based on the material. That is why the corrections matter: what is in the corrected version is what applies.

Medborgarskapskursen’s practice questions follow the chapters of Sverige i fokus and are based on the corrected version. Our English chapter pages, starting with The country of Sweden, also follow the corrected version. Medborgarskapskursen is an independent course and has no connection to UHR or the Migration Agency.
